Jason Bodner: The Trader Behind the Accelerated AI Thesis
Jason Bodner is the analyst behind the Accelerated AI presentation from Brownstone Research, and his background is different from most newsletter personalities. He did not start as a writer or a media commentator. He spent nearly 20 years on Wall Street, executing trades for hedge funds at the highest level. That institutional experience shapes everything about how he approaches markets.
Bodner was Head of Equity Derivatives at Cantor Fitzgerald, one of the most respected names on Wall Street. He then ran the ETF and derivatives desk at Jefferies. In those roles, he executed trades for hedge funds, handling transactions of $10 million, $50 million, and even over $1 billion in a single order. When you are moving that kind of capital, you develop an understanding of how money actually flows through markets that chart readers and retail commentators simply do not have.
His core philosophy is straightforward: “Somebody always knows something.” And “there’s always a bull market somewhere.” These are not slogans. They are the operating principles of someone who spent two decades watching where institutional money goes before the rest of the market catches on.
The Track Record
Bodner’s specific, verifiable calls are what set him apart from the typical newsletter presenter:
- Nvidia at $4.50 (split-adjusted) in October 2019, well before the AI boom went mainstream. Nvidia went on to become one of the best-performing stocks of the decade.
- Super Micro Computer 15 days before ChatGPT launched. Super Micro went on to gain over 2,600 percent.
- Vertiv Holdings a full year before Goldman Sachs published its first AI energy report. Vertiv gained over 1,900 percent.
- Novavax during the COVID crash, which gained over 1,600 percent.
These are real calls made in real time, and they produced real gains. They demonstrate a pattern: Bodner identifies infrastructure shifts before they become obvious to the broader market. Nvidia was an AI infrastructure call before anyone was talking about AI. Super Micro was a data center hardware call before ChatGPT made AI a household word. Vertiv was a power and cooling infrastructure call before Goldman Sachs identified the theme.
Bodner also tells us his research has been licensed through Bloomberg Tradebook, which is a significant institutional credential. Bloomberg does not license just anyone’s research. He has been featured in Forbes, Yahoo Finance, and Investing.com. He created courses for Investopedia Academy and regularly speaks at MoneyShow events. This is someone with deep institutional credentials and a documented history of getting major calls right.
The Backtested Record
Bodner cites a backtested record going back to 1990: 350+ stocks over 1,000 percent, 38 over 5,000 percent, and 15 over 10,000 percent. Since September 2014, he has flagged 70+ stocks that gained 500 percent and 29 that topped 1,000 percent.
These are impressive numbers, but they come with an important caveat: backtested results reflect pattern matching against historical data, not actual forward performance. There is likely some survivorship bias in these figures. The calls we can verify independently, Nvidia, Super Micro, Vertiv, are genuinely impressive and suggest the methodology has real predictive value. But the backtested statistics should be understood as a track record of the analytical framework, not a guarantee of future results.
Bodner himself includes a token moment of humility in the presentation: “I don’t always get it right.” That is the right thing to say. No one gets every call right, and anyone who claims otherwise should be viewed with suspicion.
The Accelerated AI Thesis
Bodner’s current thesis, as we explore in our full Accelerated AI review, is that AI is about to go through a second wave driven by photonics, the replacement of copper wires with laser beams inside AI data centers. He calls the framework the Acceleration Curve and says the next 12 to 24 months could produce “bigger gains than the entire AI boom of the past three years combined.”
The thesis is built on a historical pattern. The internet went through a copper-to-fiber transition in the 1990s, and companies like Equinix rose 37,000 percent and Netflix rose 188,471 percent. Smartphones went through a similar transition. Bodner argues AI is next. For more on the pattern, see our copper to fiber article.
He reveals Broadcom (AVGO) for free in the presentation, a company with $10.8 billion in quarterly AI revenue growing at 143 percent year over year. The three bonus picks behind the paywall are smaller, higher-upside photonics plays. For more on the free ticker, see our Broadcom stock article.
