Who Porter Stansberry Is
Porter Stansberry is the founder of Porter & Co., a research publisher that sits inside the Stansberry family of financial newsletters. He built his reputation on contrarian, sometimes blunt analysis, and he has been publishing investment research for more than two decades. His promos lean on big historical examples and a clear, repeatable thesis rather than fast trading ideas.
The current campaign, Royalty Riches, has also run as “Canadian Gold” and “The Most Capital Efficient Businesses,” and it was re-aired under the title “What Mini-Buffett is Buying Today.” The framing is consistent: buy assets that compound with minimal ongoing cost.
The Royalty Riches Thesis
The core idea is simple and genuinely sound. A royalty company owns land or mineral rights, puts up capital once, and lets an operator do the expensive work of mining or drilling. In return it collects a top-line slice of revenue with almost no ongoing cost. Stansberry argues these are the most capital-efficient businesses in the world, and there is real history behind the claim, anchored by Franco-Nevada’s Goldstrike royalty.
He names five picks across precious metals and oil, which we catalog in our royalty companies guide. His publisher background is covered in our Stansberry Research overview, and a separate Porter & Co. promo shows how these campaigns are typically structured.
How the Offer Works
The pitch leads to a $199 nonrefundable report, which is the on-ramp to the Complete Investor newsletter at a $1,999 list price. That is standard for this industry: a low-priced teaser that leads to a subscription. The thesis is worth understanding on its own, but the five names have all pulled back since the April tease, and the valuations are not bargains.
