What Is the Chaikin Power Gauge Report?
The Chaikin Power Gauge Report is Marc Chaikin’s monthly research service built around his proprietary stock-rating system. In the MAGI presentation at Brownstone Research, 12 months of the Power Gauge Report is included free with a subscription to Jeff Brown’s Near Future Report. The combined price is $179, and the Power Gauge Report alone carries a stated value of about $1,000.
As we explain in our full review of the MAGI presentation, this dual-product bundle is a key differentiator. You get Brown’s technology stock research and Chaikin’s quantitative rating system together. For more on the overall offer, see our article on The Near Future Report.
The Power Gauge System
The Power Gauge rates over 6,000 stocks and ETFs using 20 different factors. Chaikin built the system after a 60-year Wall Street career where he worked with Paul Tudor Jones, George Soros, and Steve Cohen. He compiled the factors those investors prioritized into a single, accessible rating system.
Chaikin explains the origin: “I started making a list of the top factors each Wall Street legend prioritized when he was deciding to pump billions of dollars into a particular stock at a particular time. That list grew over the years. And after I left Wall Street, I simply took that list and built my own version of it into this system I call the Power Gauge.”
The factors fall into two broad categories. Fundamental factors include earnings growth, price-to-earnings ratios, and cash flow. Technical factors include price trends, volume, and insider interest. The system translates all 20 factors into a simple rating: bullish, neutral, or bearish. For more on how the system works, see our article on the Power Gauge.
The Track Record
The Power Gauge has a specific track record that gives its signals weight:
- After ChatGPT launched, the system flagged all of the top 10 performing AI stocks
- Peak gains included 775 percent on Broadcom, 1,324 percent on Palantir, and 1,423 percent on Western Digital
- On average, the Power Gauge has flashed bullish on at least eight of the top 10 stocks of the year, every year, going back to 2016
- In the 2022 midterm cycle, the system flagged Meta, Builders First Source, and AMD, all of which more than doubled within 12 months
In the MAGI presentation specifically, the Power Gauge shows bullish ratings on AMD (the free ticker), the hidden Tesla supplier making power-delivery technology for Optimus robot actuators, and the Terafab equipment supplier. For more on these picks, see our articles on AMD stock and the Optimus robot.
What Subscribers Get
A subscription to the Power Gauge Report includes:
- Monthly issues with updates on the biggest opportunities the system is identifying, plus new recommendations vetted by Chaikin and the Power Gauge
- Sell signals to help identify when to lock in profits on recommendations
- Full access to the Power Gauge rating system, where subscribers can look up the rating on any of the 6,000+ stocks and ETFs the system covers
- 20-factor analysis translated into simple bullish, neutral, or bearish ratings
Chaikin emphasizes that the system is accessible to any investor: “If you have a computer and an internet connection, you can use the Power Gauge to see the ratings of more than 6,000 stocks and ETFs, all based on these 20 factors.” The system does not trade for you. It provides ratings, and you make the final decision.
The monthly issues are where Chaikin provides context and interpretation. He identifies which stocks the system is flagging as most promising, explains why, and issues specific recommendations. The sell signals are equally important, as they help subscribers know when to exit positions.
The Election Cycle Bonus Report
In the MAGI offer, Chaikin also includes a bonus report called “The Chaikin Buy List for the Mid-Term Election Cycle.” This report identifies stocks with the highest profit potential according to the Power Gauge, timed to coincide with what Chaikin calls the election cycle pattern.
The election cycle is a market pattern Chaikin says has never failed since 1950. Buying during midterm election year corrections has produced gains 12 months later in 100 percent of cases, with average gains of nearly 40 percent for the entire market. The last time this aligned with a technology revolution was 1998, the midterm year during the dot-com acceleration.
Chaikin explains: “I recently used the Power Gauge to scan the entire universe of viable stocks in the U.S. stock market. I pulled the ones with the highest profit potential with the least amount of risk. And I compiled their names, tickers, and my personal buying instructions into a brand-new special report.”

The Money Flow Connection
The Power Gauge’s foundation is the concept of money flow, tracking where institutional investors are positioning. Chaikin says: “Nothing makes a stock go up or down faster than the action of institutional investors.” When the Power Gauge shows a bullish rating, it means the system is detecting institutional money flowing into that stock.
In the MAGI presentation, Brown provides specific evidence of institutional money flowing into AI and robotics: Jeff Bezos ($400 million), George Soros ($69 million), Bill Ackman ($4.1 billion), Citadel ($7.3 billion), and Marc Andreessen ($500 million). The Power Gauge is detecting that money flow quantitatively across the stocks it rates.
Considerations
The Power Gauge Report is a quantitative tool, and its track record of flagging top-performing stocks is genuinely impressive. The system’s accessibility, translating 20 complex factors into simple ratings, makes it useful for investors who do not have the time or expertise to perform deep fundamental and technical analysis on every stock they consider.
What to consider: The Power Gauge’s track record is based on historical data, and past performance does not guarantee future results. The system is a screening tool, not a guarantee of returns. The “100 percent track record since 1950” for the election cycle is a strong claim that should be understood as a historical pattern. And the $1,000 stated value of the Power Gauge Report is a marketing figure, not necessarily the price you could sell it for independently.
That said, having access to a quantitative system that flagged all of the top 10 performing AI stocks, combined with Brown’s technology analysis and specific stock picks tied to the MAGI thesis, makes the bundled offer at $179 a strong value proposition for investors interested in AI and robotics.
